Motorcycling New Zealand
MNZ is the governing body for motorcycle sport in New Zealand.
The history of motorcycle sport and of Motorcycling New Zealand (MNZ) spans more than a century. Formed in 1916 as the New Zealand Auto-Cycle Union, the organisation is one of the oldest sporting bodies in the country.
The first Annual Meeting was held on August 16, 1916 at Dannevirke. Gus Torstonson was the first President, H Osgood the first Secretary and L .Lloyd the first Treasurer. The affiliated clubs were Palmerston North, Ashhurst Sports Club, Woodville, Napier and Hamilton.
